We won second place in the Echigo-style sake brewing technique championship for the brewing year 2022

We won second place in the Echigo-style sake brewing technique championship for the brewing year 2022, and an award ceremony was held at the Kashiwazaki City Industrial Culture Centre on 26 April 2023.
The competition is organised annually by the Niigata Sake Brewers’ Association and the Niigata Sake Brewing Technique Research Association, with the aim of improving the techniques of fine sake brewing. This year, 120 entries were received from 61 breweries in and outside Niigata Prefecture.

Our production manager, Takashi Goda, is from Niigata Prefecture and moved from his home town of Niigata to Aomori Prefecture, where our company is located, to become a master brewer.
We are very pleased that he has been recognised as an Echigo Touji in Niigata, where he learnt to brew sake, and that he has been able to return home loaded with honors.

In Niigata, where the number of sake breweries is the highest in Japan, it is very difficult to achieve a top ten ranking, so to be awarded second place was both a surprise and a great honour, and a great encouragement to us.
We would also like to thank everyone for their continued support, as well as his own tireless efforts, which have enabled us to achieve such a good result.
All of us will continue to work even harder and deliver even better sake in the future.
